ABOUT US
Welcome to the gem of the world-famous, aptly named Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay. The Bitou River hosts an abundance of natural gems, only appreciated by exploring this river. Bitou Kayaks invites you to go on a 2, 3, or 4-hour paddle to experience the peace and tranquillity and magnificent birdlife of the Bitou River.
Hire a kayak and wander along the river at your own pace or join us on a guided paddle at an additional cost. Please note that the guided tours are not necessary. No previous kayaking experience is required. We will provide a mandatory pre-trip safety briefing as well as the necessary safety gear. All our kayaks have been certified by SAMSA. You will be provided with a waterproof pouch for your mobile and car keys.
BOOKINGS
Bookings are essential and all trips are weather dependent – your safety comes first! Please ensure you are contactable on the mobile number you supplied when booking so we can notify you in case of the unlikely event of cancellation.
Please see the map for the meeting point, please do not go to the meeting/launch point before booking. The Bitou River trip begins and ends at the Emily Moon River Lodge car park.

THINGS TO BRING
Sun protection (sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses) and a bottle of water or cool drink should you get thirsty. A windbreaker in case of a change in the weather. No alcohol is permitted.
WHAT TO WEAR
Comfortable beach wear (quick-dry clothing, while not essential is recommended). A beach towel since you may be somewhat wet / damp, to dry off after your trip.
